After filming 350+ weddings across Colorado, we’ve been to a lot of venues. Some are incredible for video. Some have challenges you don’t expect until you’re there. Here are the venues we genuinely love filming at — and why.

Della Terra Mountain Chateau – Estes Park

This one is special. Stone walls, mountain views, and that incredible approach road that makes guests feel like they’re arriving somewhere truly different. The light in the late afternoon here is almost unfair — it’s just so good. And having Rocky Mountain National Park basically in your backyard means the portrait options are endless.

Ten Mile Station – Breckenridge

If you want epic mountain backdrop, this is it. The challenge here is managing the logistics between downtown Breckenridge and the mountain top — but that’s also what makes it exciting. We’ve got the “Breck shuffle” down and we know exactly where to be at every moment. The gondola shots are always a crowd favorite.

Donovan Pavilion – Vail

The Gore Range views from this venue are hard to beat. It films beautifully at golden hour and the space is intimate enough that you never feel like you’re in a convention center. Vail in general has some of the most stunning light we’ve ever worked in.

The Stanley Hotel – Estes Park

Yes, the haunted one. But also one of the most beautiful historic properties in Colorado. The architecture is stunning, the mountain backdrop is iconic, and the grounds give you so many different looks in one venue. It’s a videographer’s dream honestly.

Spruce Mountain Ranch – Larkspur

If you want a true Colorado ranch feel, Spruce Mountain is it. Big open sky, mountain views, rustic barns, and enough space that even with 200 guests it never feels crowded. We’ve filmed a lot of weddings here and it always looks gorgeous.

The Little Nell – Aspen

For couples who want luxury and mountain beauty together, The Little Nell is in its own category. The attention to detail at this property is exceptional and it shows on film. Aspen in general — whether summer flowers or winter snow — is just breathtaking to film in.

Strawberry Creek Ranch – Bellvue

This is one of those hidden gems near Fort Collins that not enough people know about. Completely private ranch, incredible mountain backdrop, and that off-the-beaten-path feeling that makes everything feel more personal. The barn is beautiful and the outdoor ceremony space films perfectly.

A Note About Venues and Drone Rules

A lot of the best venues in Colorado are near national parks or restricted airspace. Rocky Mountain National Park, for example, does not allow drone flights without a special permit. We know these rules and we always check before your wedding — not during it. Please make sure any videographer you hire knows the drone regulations for your specific venue.

Getting married at one of these venues — or somewhere else in Colorado? We’ve probably been there. Reach out and we’ll tell you exactly what your wedding film could look like at your specific venue.
