Let’s just get straight to it. You want to know the price. And a lot of videographers make you go through a whole inquiry process just to find out basic numbers. That’s a little frustrating, so we’ll just tell you honestly.
The General Range in Colorado
Wedding videography in Colorado generally ranges from about $2,000 on the lower end to $10,000 or more on the higher end. Most couples with a good, experienced videographer end up spending somewhere between $5,000 and $8,500.
For us at Ampersand Family specifically, most of our experiences start around $5,800 and go up to about $8,500 depending on your location, how many hours you need, and what you want included.
Why Is There Such a Big Difference in Price?
Good question. Here’s what usually affects the cost:
- Experience level — someone with 10+ years and 350+ weddings is going to charge more than someone who just started
- Number of videographers — one camera vs. two cameras on your day
- Coverage hours — 6 hours vs. full day (10-12 hours)
- What’s included — highlight film only, or full ceremony recording, speeches, drone footage
- Location — mountain weddings often have travel fees added
- Turnaround time and editing quality — more editing time means more cost
What About Travel Fees for Mountain Weddings?
If you’re getting married in Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen, Steamboat, or somewhere far from Denver, most videographers will add a travel fee. This covers gas, lodging, and the extra time required to be there fully for your wedding.
It’s not a bad thing — it actually means your videographer will be rested and ready, not driving three hours the morning of your wedding. We’re always honest about travel fees upfront so there are no surprises.
Is Cheaper Always Bad?
Not necessarily. There are newer videographers who are genuinely talented and are still building their portfolio. The risk is less experience handling unexpected situations — and on your wedding day, unexpected things always happen.
Weather changes. Timelines shift. The light disappears. An experienced videographer knows what to do. A newer one might panic.
Is More Expensive Always Better?
Also no. Price doesn’t always equal quality. Some videographers charge a lot just because they can. What matters is watching their actual work and reading their reviews — not just trusting the price tag.
What’s the Average Colorado Couple Actually Spending?
From what we see, most couples who want a quality, experienced videographer for a Colorado mountain or Front Range wedding are budgeting between $6,000 and $7,500. That’s the sweet spot where you’re getting real experience, good equipment, and a film you’ll actually love.
“Your wedding video is the only vendor you’ll still be using 30 years from now. Budget accordingly.”
