Your wedding is over. You’re back from your honeymoon. You had the most amazing day. And now you’re wondering — when do I actually get my film?

This is one of the most common questions couples have after the wedding. And the waiting can feel really long, especially when you just had the best day of your life and you can’t wait to relive it.

So here’s an honest look at what’s actually happening behind the scenes, and what you can expect from us.

What Happens Right After Your Wedding

In the first few days after your wedding, your footage is being backed up — multiple times, on multiple drives. This is not optional. Losing wedding footage is one of the worst things that can happen in this industry, and the best videographers are obsessive about backing everything up safely.

This backup process alone can take a day or two depending on how much footage there is.

Then Comes the Review and Logging

Before editing can start, all the footage needs to be reviewed and organized. A full wedding day produces a lot of video — sometimes 4 to 6 hours of raw footage from multiple cameras. Finding the best takes, syncing audio, and organizing everything into a timeline takes time.

The Editing Process

This is where most of the time goes. A well-edited highlight film — 5 to 8 minutes long — typically takes 15 to 25 hours of editing work. Sometimes more. Music selection, color grading, audio mixing, pacing, multiple rounds of review — it’s not a quick process when done right.

This is why wedding films take weeks, not days.

How Long Does It Take With Us?

Honestly, most of our couples receive their film within 8 to 12 weeks of their wedding day. We know that feels long. But we would rather take the time to give you something you’ll love forever than rush and give you something that’s just okay.

If your wedding is during peak season (June through October in Colorado), it can sometimes be closer to 12 weeks because that’s when we’re filming the most. We are always transparent about timing when you book.

Do You Get a Sneak Peek First?

Yes. We typically send a short teaser — usually 60 to 90 seconds — before the full film is ready. It’s a little preview so you have something to hold onto while we finish the full edit. Most couples love this. Some cry immediately.

How Do You Receive Your Film?

When your film is ready, you get your own private website — just for you. It has your highlight film, any other included videos, and a way to download everything in high quality. You can share the link with family and friends or keep it private. It’s completely up to you.

What If You Want Changes?

We do one round of revisions after delivery. Most couples are happy with the film as-is, but if something feels off — the music doesn’t fit, a section is too long, something important is missing — we want to know. The goal is for you to love it.

“Good editing takes time. The weeks of waiting are the weeks your film is being made with care.”

Questions about our process before you book? We’re an open book. Ask us anything about how we work, what to expect, and what your film timeline will look like. We’d rather you know everything upfront.
